Today’s highly connected society is held together by social, economic, technological and infrastructural networks. PLANET-NL brings together researchers, engineers and practitioners by providing software, expertise, tools, and opportunities for research and collaboration to study these networks and address societal issues.

Research

PLANET-NL does and facilitates collaborative research that utilises the PLANET-NL infrastructure for a population-level understanding of human behaviour, leveraging novel network science methods that are necessary to study issues such as segregation and substantive social change.

Policy

Through several joint-projects with policymakers, PLANET-NL provides expertise on translating insights from large-scale social network analysis into actionable strategies to strengthen our social fabric and support inclusive urban development.

Infrastructure

PLANET-NL develops tools, software, data, novel methodological approaches and tailored computational infrastructure for analysing large-scale social networks at the population level.

Community

PLANET-NL serves as a central hub for the interdisciplinary research community involved in population-scale social network analysis in both the Netherlands and across Europe.
