The HERA Collective is a new platform for research, dialogue, and public engagement at the intersection of gender and visual art. Initiated as an interfaculty collaboration between Psychology, Informatics, and Digital History at the University of Amsterdam, and developed with cultural institutions, the collective aims to make structural gender imbalances visible, understandable, and actionable.
During this launch event, scientific directors Dr. Eftychia Stamkou and Dr. Nanne van Noord will introduce the aims and ambitions of the collective, followed by a showcase of the ongoing projects, and an opportunity for networking. The collective is a shared effort to deepen our understanding of gender inequality in the arts, as well as a call to action. As such the event is also an open invitation to connect with and join the collective. The meeting will be hybrid to allow participation from collaborators abroad.
This is an invitation-only event.
