Event details of The Philosophy & Ethics of Creative AI: Seed Funding Event for Early Career Researchers

The event will focus on seed-funding opportunities for researchers who are interested in the ethical challenges of using creative machines for tasks that have previously been done by humans. We will discuss the diverse and shifting funding landscape, including unconventional sources of funding from arts institutions.

About the speakers

James S. Pearson (j.s.pearson@uva.nl) is a postdoctoral researcher in Political Science at the University of Amsterdam and in Philosophy at the University of Lisbon. He is also affiliated with the Centre of Philosophy at the University of Lisbon (CFUL). His research focusses on contemporary political theory and he is the PI of a project on the social value of creativity.

Matthew J. Dennis (m.j.dennis@tue.nl) is an Assistant Professor in Ethics of Technology at TU Eindhoven, and previously a Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies (University of Amsterdam). His research focuses on how emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, challenge our notions of creativity, autonomy, and well-being.
