Amsterdam launch event
The event aims at fostering a multidisciplinary and multistakeholder dialogue about the integrity of our information ecosystem in times of troubled democracy. Participants include representatives of the OID who worked on the report, leading experts working on relevant topics at the AI, Media, & Democracy Lab and AlgoSoc, representatives of the Dutch media regulation landscape and civil society. The event will take place on an invite-only basis to ensure maximum participants’ engagement.
The event will be structured around two key themes: the structural power asymmetries between Big Tech and the press and the importance of evidence-based policymaking, as demonstrated by the OID report. The event will conclude with an open discussion on the potential of the reports’ policy recommendations to empower media organisations in the Netherlands and the EU.
