My research

As a strategic coordinator I aim to contribute to the coherence and quality of the advisory work at the Netherlands Climate Council. I work on the strategic nexus between science and policy, aiming to make our work policy relevant as well as thoroughly scientifically informed. Specifically, I lead a project on climate adaptation policy in the Netherlands.

IAS Fellowship

Transition policy aims for a more sustainable society through major socio-technical change. It is informed by transition science. I suggest that both transition policy as well transition science can be improved. I suggest that this requires better empirical, historical and political knowledge, as well as a better alignment between conceptual and theoretical research and action-oriented policy solutions.

I aim to explore and bring together best policy practices and conceptual challenges. My goal is to improve transition policy advices, such as those by advisory councils and other boundary organisations.
