My research
My research and writing take a sociological perspective, with a focus on business sustainability, social entrepreneurship, and historical processes. I am particularly interested in how academic research can help people address some of today’s most pressing crises, including climate change, inequality, and discrimination. Across this work, I examine how the relationships among corporations, governments, and civil society can be rebalanced to produce more socially and environmentally beneficial outcomes for all.
IAS Fellowship
My focus during the fellowship will be examining how businesses in advanced economies can redesign business models and governance so they can flourish within ecological and societal limits—and what can we learn from the Netherlands (and Amsterdam specifically) as a “living laboratory” of such experiments.
