Kick-off lecture by Ana Paula Millan
A fundamental question in neuroscience -and other complex systems- is how structure and function are related. The underlying complex structure of brain networks is expected to shape different aspects of the brain's dynamics and cognitive capabilities, and similarly brain function will impact its structure over time. Here I will follow this rationale to study some vastly different problems in neuroscience, namely brain development, emergent synchronization and epilepsy surgery. I aim to show how the explicit consideration of form and function coupling can provide new on these problems.
