My research

I am a language scientist working in the intersection between the language sciences and cognitive science. I am engaged in a project on ecological linguistics. The purpose is to study the role of languages and linguistic behaviour in the coupling between social and natural domains.

IAS Fellowship

At the IAS, I will specifically pursue two core questions, one that moves from the linguistic enquiry to the socio-environmental, and one that makes the opposite movement. The first question is: How do we conceptualise language in order to grasp its cognitive, behavioural, and environmental effects? The second question is: How do complex social and ecological systems shape how human beings coordinate their behaviour as they perceive, act in, and engage with the world around them?
