My research

In my day job, I work as a policy practitioner to change the long term urban planning and public investment strategies to get Amsterdam within planetary boundaries through different sustainability transitions (energy transition, climate adaptation, circular economy, nature positive city, and increasingly sustainable finance).

IAS Fellowship

I will use my time at IAS to improve the rigor in thinking about how complex city systems can get within planetary boundaries, given that more than 70% percent of CO2-emissions comes from such systems and the bulk of human harms will be experienced within such systems - I take the ensemble of these current systems to be the manifestation of civilization in the anthropocene.
