NWO has recently opened a call for proposals ‘Complexity & Creative Industry’ to stimulate research on complex, persistent societal problems that cannot be solved by traditional governance or design approaches. Interested? Prepare your proposal at the IAS!

NWO and the creative industries have joined forces to stimulate the advancement of knowledge for an inclusive, innovative and resilient society. The research should lead to new insights on what kind of system-level interventions could help to solve complex societal challenges, and it should contribute to the development of new products and services. This requires, for example, knowledge on the behaviour of users, and understanding to which extent systems can be self-organising.

The IAS offers UvA researchers and their collaboration partners a home base and support (e.g. to organise a small workshop, networking) to write a proposal for the NWO call ‘Complexity & Creative Industry’. It allows you to work with your team in an inspiring environment with other researchers that share system dynamics (and specifically complex systems methodology) as their common language.
