Computational models can help us to understand the complex dynamics of immunity-related disorders. I have developed a model that can be applied to numerous disorders (e.g. infections, cancer, diabetes, allergies). Over the past 12 years, the model has been validated against various data sets. It has been shown to accurately reproduce the complex interactions of the major cellular and molecular players in innate and adaptive immunity.
IAS fellowship (Oct. 2017 - Sep. 2018)
The goal of my fellowship is to team up with other researchers to address several immunity-related questions, using an interdisciplinary approach combining in-vitro, in-vivo and in-silico experiments. At a theoretical level, I am interested in developing a formal definition of the concept of immune fitness, using variables, parameters and concepts found in my computational model.
