Day-to-day management, communication and administration are carried out by a small team at our office in Amsterdam.
My research focuses on how nature processes information, using computational modelling and simulation as well as formal methods. This work has many applications, such as modelling the virology and epidemiology of infectious diseases (e.g. HIV). My theoretical work focuses on out-of-equilibrium dynamics of complex adaptive systems using information theory and thermodynamics.
Besides management and coordination tasks, my focus is on the strategic development and external relations of the institute.
I ensure the smooth running of the office on a day-to-day basis, through a range of organisational, administrative and hospitality tasks.
